Henry V Dagger
Henry V was King of England for less than a decade, yet he is one of the most famous of the medieval English monarchs. His abilities as a warrior and tactician were proven time and again, though nowhere more decidedly than the Battle of Agincourt. In this battle, the English army, badly outnumbered by the French, managed to win a decisive victory thanks to Henry V’s brilliant military strategy. While the English longbow was almost certainly the deciding factor in the battle, Henry V himself led his soldiers in melee combat against French troops while the French monarch – suffering from an illness – avoided the field. Though Henry V himself would die from an illness in his mid 30’s he maintains even to this day a reputation and a legacy as a great warrior, and one of the greatest Kings who ever lived.
This Henry V dagger is intended to be a companion piece to the Henry V sword (available at Darksword Armoury). Like the sword, it has a wheel pommel and a matching attractive curved guard. The blade is made of 5160 spring steel and like all The Medieval Store blades are tempered to a Rockwell of 53. It comes with a black leather wrapped scabbard with belt loop and can be worn on the interlaced belt available when you purchase the Henry V sword. This is a well-made dagger fit for a collector – or a King.
